Description
Our birding tour will run for 4 full days through some of the best birdwatching hotspots in the North and Northwest of Morocco. Setting off from Tarifa with our minibus and an expert guide, we will embark on the exploration of a wide range of landscapes and habitats which will give us an exceptional opportunity to witness the outstanding numbers of wintering bird gathering in the area together with the Moroccan species and subspecies of particular ornithological interest.
Merja Zerga lagoon will most definitely stand as one of the highlights of the trip. Using small traditional boats, we will sail in search of the many waders, raptors, flamingos, gulls, terns and waterfowl, finishing up in a nearby area to target the endangered Marsh Owl.
The biological reserve of Sidi Boughaba, with its beautiful lake surrounded with lush vegetation, the cliffs of Salé, the forest of Zäer and river Loukkos, will be among the many places visited during our fascinating immersion into the African country. We will be in with a chance of sightings of birds such as White-headed Duck, Ferruginous and Marbled Duck, but also more African species like Laughing Doves, Lanner and Barbary Falcon, Barbary Partridge, Double-spurred Francolin and the always elusive Black-crowned Tchagra, to name but a few.
With an open attitude and mouth-watering gastronomy, Morocco is a charming country that will always deliver a warm welcome and make us feel at home.
